We are excited to announce an expansion of the Present Levels Wizard from reading and math to now include behavior.
The Challenge of Describing Student Behavior
- The Present Levels Wizard helps educators with some of the most challenging elements of describing behavior in a student’s present levels statement:
- Describing behaviors objectively and without stigma, negative judgments, or assumptions.
Including all necessary details so that the team understands the full context in which the behavior occurs (setting, antecedent, behavior, etc.). - Referencing observational data such as the frequency, duration, or intensity of the behavior.

Resources to Inform an Objective Data-informed Approach
When behavior is described in present levels, it is often purely anecdotal and absent of quantitative information that provides details of when and where the behavior occurred, as well as the frequency, duration, or intensity of the observed behavior.
The Behavior Present Levels Wizard includes numerous downloadable resources with various data collection methods, such as ABC Observations Forms, student/parent/teacher interviews, and observational tracking sheets to gather frequency, duration, and latency data.

What’s Next?
